2012 Atlanta Falcons Team Signed Helmet

2012 Atlanta Falcons Team Signed Helmet

In 1965 the Atlanta Falcons came into the National Football League as an expansion team when Rankin Smith paid the huge sum of $8.5 million for the franchise. As with most expansion teams of the era they were terrible, winning only 12 times in their first 4 years. In the deep south, where college ball is religion, these were painful years for the faithful. And things didn't improve much during the next 20 years. Yes, there were playoff years and yes there was Neon Deion Sanders for a while, but mostly it was a team playing in virtual anonymity.

But then came Mike Smith and Matt Ryan in 2008 and everything changed. Winning seasons, playoff games and fan joy returned to Atlanta. Now, in their 47th season, this year's team has become a fan favorite because of their incredible cast of characters and the style of football they play. The 2012 Falcons are destined to be one of the most remembered teams of the decade.

For elite fans of unique Atlanta Falcons autographed football memorabilia, this might do the trick:

Instant Classic. Yep, this is what the sports writers are predicting for the 2013 NFL playoff game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons will likely be pulling their hair out by the third quarter as they attempt to throttle the ridiculous scoring trio of Colin Kaepernick, Frank Gore and Michael Crabtree. Not only will this game be an instant classic, but these three guys are likely to become instant stars in the process. Yes, yes, we know they're already stars in the Bay Area but they're still pretty fresh to the rest of the country's casual football fans.

Today's hot offering is an instantly collectible piece of football sports memorabilia, a 49ers logo football signed by Kaepernick, Gore and Crabtree.

The Police Autographed Drum Head

The Police Autographed Drum Head

So where were you in 1978? Wherever that place was you were most likely listening to FM radio at home, in your car and maybe even at work. The war between rock and disco was still going on, at least on the record charts, and there wasn't much in between. Popular music had run out of gas creatively. Then, out of the club scene in London, came the New Wave. Sometimes considered the bastard child of punk and pop, it was radio safe and full of promise. One of the reasons it got into your ear was because of a catchy little tango-based tune written by a spikey haired dude named Sting. Roxanne and The Police crashed onto the scene and the music listening masses were happy.

The Police, with Sting, Andy Summers and Stuart Copeland, became an international smash hit with zillions of records sold and every market on the planet conquered. Unbelievably, the band rode the wave all the way to 1986, somehow managing to stay fresh and relevant. Which is why we still listen today.
